About the Area

The region encompassing Northeastern Arizona and Northwestern New Mexico is incredibly diverse; both biologically and culturally.  And being just a 3 hour drive from both Albuquerque to the East and Flagstaff to the West, it’s far enough removed from the crowds and hustle of humanity to remain relatively remote; offering plenty of opportunities to roam with minimal interruptions.  The area includes the vast lava fields of El Malpais National Monument to the mixed conifer subalpine forested peaks of the White Mountains.  And with elevations ranging from 6000’ to over 11000’, there are 5 distinct life zones of biodiversity to explore.

Historically, this region is the ancestral home to the puebloan peoples of the Hopi and Zuni tribes as well as the Apache.  The landscape is dotted with the artifacts, rock art, and ruins of these ancient cultures; who very much maintain an active and vibrant way of life today.

Central to our operations is the Round Valley and towns of Springerville and Eager, Arizona; full service towns offering not only the basics, but also some unique eateries, coffee shops, and attractions such as the Springerville Heritage Center & Casa Malpais ruins.

It’s truly an amazing area filled with incredible biodiversity, rich cultural history, and ample opportunity to explore!
